Why We Tithe

We believe that tithing is something we do from a place of revelation. It is a response to the incredible love and grace that the Lord has already poured out on us through Jesus Christ

It is an act of worship and thanksgiving.

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Romans 8:32

When we tithe from this revelation, it becomes an act of worship and thanksgiving. We’re not giving to get something in return. We’re giving because we’re grateful for the Lord’s goodness and generosity towards us. We’re saying, “Jesus, You are the source of all my blessings and increase. Thank You for always blessing me and my family out of the riches of Your grace.”

We recognize God’s role in our blessings.

Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them,
of whom it is witnessed that he lives.

Hebrews 7:8

This revelation takes us back to the first mention of tithing in the Bible, long before the law was given. In Genesis 14:18–20, we see Abraham giving a tithe to Melchizedek after a great victory in battle. Abraham didn’t tithe because he was following a law. Rather, he was acknowledging the Lord as the one who had given him the victory and the spoils. This is the heart of tithing from a place of revelation—recognizing and honoring God’s role in our successes and blessings.

To support the building of His house.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house.

Malachi 3:10

The storehouse refers to the church in our context today. When God’s people bring their tithe to the church, it enables us to support the operational costs of running the church, continue creating and running pastoral programs and services, and to provide spiritual food for the congregation.
